Gilcrest Jewett Lumber Company has multiple openings for Class B CDL drivers (Van and Flatbed Trucks) to make deliveries around the Des Moines Metro area.  Benefits include competitive wages, health insurance, 401k and profit sharing.

Essential Functions

Deliver materials to job site, inspect and maintain truck, report shortages and claims to Dispatch Manager, and assist in loading and storing materials.
Check orders for accuracy.
Organize and secure load.
Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in Yard and Warehouse.
Assist forklift operators when loading.
Deliver and unload materials to customer’s satisfaction.
Follow guidelines from supervisor.
Complete daily equipment inspection.
Record all merchandise that is returned by truck.
Complete necessary paperwork such as delivery tickets and credit slips.
Keep records and driver’s log as required.
Assist in unloading material returned for credit.
Keep truck in good working order – write up when necessary.
Assist supervisor, other employees, and other work areas, as needed.

Qualifications

Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Good driving record (MVR)
Ability to pass company physical exam and drug screen.
Strength (lift, carry, push, and pull):   exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in building materials industry preferred but not required
