Rich Ebensteiner joined Gilcrest/Jewett in 2020 and has built a reputation for accuracy, hard work, and dedication to customers. 
 
Rich says he’s always been drawn to the building industry. “I always enjoyed using my hands to build things growing up,” he says. “Construction always came naturally to me and provided enjoyable work experiences.” That early interest turned into a career built on precision and follow-through. 
 
“My typical workday has me doing a variety of different things,” he explains. “The majority of my workload consists of estimating projects and entering orders for delivery. I receive plans from builders and provide them with material estimates for each job. I also handle a steady flow of emails, texts, and calls with orders that need to be entered for delivery so customers have what they need to complete their projects.” 
 
When asked what customers should know more about, Rich points to the GAF Shingles stocked at Gilcrest/Jewett’s Altoona location. “We have a great product at a great price,” he says. “More of our customers should take advantage of the opportunity.” 
 
Rich’s approach is grounded in hard work and accuracy. “I’m here for my customers and know that they need the correct material delivered in a timely manner,” he explains. “If I follow through with that, they’ll continue to come back to me for all their product needs.” 
 
He’s proud of achieving nearly $6 million in sales in 2024 while continuing to meet every customer’s expectations. 
 
Rich is described as nice, caring, and accurate, and his philosophy is simple: work hard, be honest, and care about the work you do and the accuracy in which you do it. 
 
Outside of work, Rich enjoys spending time with family, watching sports, and golfing.
