This October, we’re shining the spotlight on Jackson Joens from our Waukee location! Jackson has been part of the Gilcrest/Jewett Lumber Co. team for 3½ years and serves as our Logistics Coordinator, helping keep our deliveries moving and our customers taken care of.
A typical day for Jackson starts bright and early, making sure every driver is loaded and out of the yard on time. From routing drivers through Descartes and scheduling deliveries a few days in advance to staying in constant communication with drivers, sales, and the yard team, Jackson plays a big role in keeping everything running smoothly!
What does he enjoy most about his job? Every day is different! He loves the fast-paced environment, interacting with people across the company, and solving problems as they come up. He also appreciates how everyone at GJ works together toward the same goal and how the team can rely on one another.
One accomplishment Jackson is especially proud of is making the move from our Altoona location to Waukee. He also enjoys working closely with our operations and yard teams to keep things moving in the right direction.
